I just cooked some this morning using the usual ratio of 2 parts water to one part rice. It was too much water so I drained off the excess when the rice was done. From what I've read this is a prefectly acceptable way of cooking this type of rice. Nice flavor and a little chewy like brown rice.
The ratio of water used in cooking to 80 oz of rice is around 2:1 depending on the type of rice you are cooking.
The ratio for most stove top rice cooking is 2 parts water to 1 part rice. This works with white, brown and raw rice for me.
It is a bowl normally used for rice, but filled with water instead.
If you are making paella with an appropriate rice, i.e., bomba or callaspara rice from the Valencia region of Spain, these types of rice absorb more liquid than ordinary rice. And of course, this is what makes paella so good. The rice can absorb far more flavorful liquid than other rices, so the paella tastes better.
Cook in liquid (i.e. boil)e.g. Cree the rice in milk. When creed drain.
White rice is usually cooked at a ratio of 1 part dry rice by volume to 2 parts water or other cooking liquids such as broth or stock for 16-20 minutes at a low simmer tightly covered. With brown rice, increase the liquid to 2 1/2 parts to 1 part rice and cook for 35-45 minutes until tender. Wild rice is cooked like pasta, in lots of liquid at a low boil until the kernels start to open, usually about 30-45 minutes.
"Baked rice" is just what it says - baked rice. Rice can be cooked by baking instead of the traditional method of cooking, which is cooking on the stove top in a covered pot. To bake rice, use the same ratio of one part rice to two parts water, as well as your preferred seasonings. You can also use chicken broth (or any flavor broth or stock), just be sure to adjust any added seasonings accordingly. Combine all ingredients in a covered baking dish, then bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 50 minutes, or till rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed. If the rice seems to become too dry before it's done, you can add a small amount more liquid.

It is the rinsing of rice before cooking at least twice with tap water.
Depends on how hot the surface is ;)
Are you stir-ing your rice,if so you shouldn't be because the rice will harden and may seem uncooked:) Are you cooking the rice before putting it in the pudding? You should be!
