Also: plenty of moderate aerobic exercise; and avoid junk food. Preferably only a small amount of sugar, and little added salt and processed foods. Eat 3 moderately-portioned meals/day, and do not skip breakfast.
Avoid crash diets, diet pills etc. Avoid fatty cuts of meat. Walk as much as possible. Bicycling and swimming are good too.
