The "Drink Me" potion in Alice in Wonderland tastes like different things to different people. In the story, Alice describes it as a sort of mixed flavor, resembling cherry tart, custard, pineapple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast. Overall, it seems to have a strange and complex taste that is unique to each individual who drinks it.

Several live action film versions of Alice in Wonderland have been made over the decades, and the best known was probably Shirley Temple in the title role. There are surprising similarities between Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy (in Oz). They both have female leads, start off in reality then go elsewhere, have animal and human characters mixed, and numerous other parallels while being quite different stories. Alice, if I am not mistaken, has no juvenile or adult companions on her journey- it is even more solo adventure than the Baum novel, which has strong residual family ties.

Tenniel's original illustrations for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland depict the March Hare as wearing straw on his head. During the Victorian age, this was a convention used to indicate madness or insanity. From Lewis Carroll's Nursery "Alice":That's the March Hare, with the long ears, and straws mixed up with his hair. The straws showed he was mad-I don't know why. Never twist up straws among your hair, for fear people should think you're mad !To see Tenniel's illustrations of the March Hare, follow the related links below.

The LotLHT is a children's fantasy novel. it starts out on a full moon night at a ball - and the principal characters are soon transported to an "Alice in Wonderland" like land of mythical creatures (a Wizard, a robber king, a giant and assorted other characters) where they have a series of interesting - if typical - adventures. What distinguishes this tale is a keen sense of humor in the writings and a pleasant and familiar flow to the story that evokes images of the Narnia tales mixed with Jack the Giant Killer and Alice in Wonderland.
