Most newer vehicles require 5w30 motor oil. If your vehicle has a lot of miles on it like over 100,000, then you may want to go to 10w30 which is a little thicker so you will not burn oil. Every vehicle I ever had I used 10w30 castrol oil and change my oil every 3,000 miles and every vehicle had over 200,000 miles on it before I sold them. I also never had an oil leak so preventive maintenance is the key
