The recommended tire size for a 2002 VW Jetta with 15 inch wheels is 195 65 R15. For 16 inch wheels, the recommended tire size is 205 55 R16.
You should look in a technical data book 1998, you can probably get one from Halfords. Or just take my word for it. For the majority of cars it's between 28 - 30 psi, including yours.. It is on the tire. It will say Max PSI on the tire or on the inside of the drivers side door frame. A book is one thing but i willing to bet you do not have the factory tires on it. -Richard.
the VW beetle with radial tires should have 17 lbs PSI in the front and 24 PSI in the rear. That may have been the recommended pressure for bias tires. Radials tend to require at least 26 psi.
If you open up the fuel door the tire psi information is in there. I have a 2001 VW Beetle and my tire psi should be between "28 to a MAX of 38 psi.
A tire rod end is recommended to be replaced complete with the rack end linkage. I own a Polo 1.9tdi sportline and the VW dealership quoted me figures very close to R3 000 for the complete left and right system in the front suspension.
