Radiator cools the engine while the air con(ditioner) cools the passenger cabin. Generally these two systems do no interact with each other.
The heater core is a radiator in the car, warmed with coolant from the engine. When you put the Air-con on hot, and turn the fan on, the air is blown over it to warm the air (and you in the car) up. As it contains radiator fluid, it can cause the level to drop if it leaks. Check the carpets in the car to see if they are wet with radiator fluid, or to see if the car leaves a puddle of fluid coming out of the air con condensation drain.
yes the air con on a car is presurised
to remove the radiator from a mk2 mondeo start by removing the water pipes then the lower support bar that the radiator sits in is bolted to the chassis leg on both sides by for 13mm bolts once these are undone the radiator will drop off . if you have air con the air con rad will be bolted to the normal radiator so just undo the 2 bolts and slide it off but do not undo the air con pipes if you can help it as you will need to get it refilled
Yes, The Air con shuts off as soon as the the car of air con i shut off. the red light just signals that the air con is ready to use.
Could be,Low on coolant.Cooling fan or fans not operating correctly.Coolant circulation restricted (blockage inside radiator).Sticky or stuck thermostat.Air circulation through radiator restricted (blockage outside radiator).
a/c condinser stopped up,its in front of the radiator. Or the condinser fan is out.
Probably caused by either Air conditioninging coolent pressure too high or if the car runs hot a fauly with the cooling system, my guess air con.
