The size of a planet does not have any relevance with its distance from the sun.

The four inner planets are small rocky worlds whereas the outer four are gas giants. But, the largest of the gas giants is the innermost of the four. Also, all this is only after the outermost and smallest, Pluto, was judged not to be a proper planet but a dwarf planet. There are other dwarf planets further away from the sun. So clearly, there is no simple relationship.
