The party line is generally against equality for the LGBT community, although there are a handful of Republicans who don't follow the party line.
The Democratic Party controlled congress in 2010.
Gay rights advocates like the Human Rights Campaign say that Roberts has no paper trail on the issue as a judge. But they fear that his conservative Republican record, including his criticism of the right to privacy authorized by Roe, bodes badly for them.
The bible does not address gay rights.
Republican...
The tea party leaders do not respect the authority of the republican party. Some say that Speaker Boener has totally lost control of a giant chunk of his party.
I would say no.
There is no evidence to say that either party is gay.
Democratic is what i say
Many Democrats on the west coast of the United States of America do see the anti-slavery politician Tomas Jefferson who lived long ago as their hero. His party was called the Democratic-Republican Party. They say their party has the same values, and that they shortened the name to Democrat when the Democratic-Republican Party began to work with other Democrats. They often meet with and debate people who call themselves the Republican Party who also are a group of people who say they have Jefferson's values and are like the Democratic-Republican Party.
Nothing....
Most Democrats believe in gay rights and believe in protecting gays against discrimination, most are firmly against the military's "Don't ask, don't tell" policy (which ironically was signed by a Democrat). But Democrats are split in their beliefs on gay marriage. Although most Democrats don't want there to be an amendment that defines marriage as between a man and woman, some of those same Democrats don't want gay marriage made legal mostly due to religious reasons. Practically all Demcrats support civil unions for gays.
It varies by country. Some countries do not give gay people equal rights.
