How does one get into a dental hygienist school?

High school and college students who want to become dentists should take courses in biology, chemistry, physics, health, and mathematics. College undergraduates planning on applying to dental school are required to take many science courses. Because of this, some choose a major in a science, such as biology or chemistry, while others take the required science coursework while pursuing a major in another subject. All dental schools require applicants to take the Dental Admissions Test (DAT). When selecting students, schools consider scores earned on the DAT, applicants' grade point averages, and information gathered through recommendations and interviews. Competition for admission to dental school is keen.

Dental schools require a minimum of 2 years of college-level pre-dental education prior to admittance. Dental school usually lasts 4 academic years. Some dental schools award the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Others award an equivalent degree, Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).

Can you go to dental school with a french major?

Yes ... but there are tests AND required undergraduate courses. (I did it with an engineering degree ... but it required some extra courses and a lot of hours.)

What should you major in to be an orthodontist?

There are some colleges that offer dental classes, but only because those classes are related to actual dental schools. Normally you would just have to major in a science such as biology, chemistry, or psychology and then just take all the required dental examinations, and just hope for the best and get into a dental school. YOU DO NOT, AND I REPEAT, DO NOT HAVE TO DO PRE-MED TO GET INTO DENTAL SCHOOL!!
