Immunity.

Depending on how an organism becomes immune to an INFECTIOUS disease, classifies the immunity into :
Active/ Passive
Natural/ Artificial

  • Active immunity- the organism produced its own antibodies to the disease.

  • Passive immunity- the organism was given antibodies to fight the disease (this type does not last.. so that if the organism is re-infected with the SAME disease...it is not resistant like previously)

  • Natural immunity- the organism naturally was infected to develop active immunity or given antibodies (from mother's milk).

  • Artificial- the organism was deliberately infected to develop active immunity or given extracted antibodies (probably produced from rat's spleen).
