Being a Granthi requires a lot of skill, and qualities that are difficult to find in everyone. Some Granthis are better than others at doing their job. Being a Granthi, means taking on an awful lot of responsibility and duty. You are in charge of keeping the Gurdwar in fit state, and you will organise all events. You will help out in the community, and will take care of the Guru Granth Sahib (Holy book). A Granthi can be female or male.

Basically the role of this pecific person also known as maybe an aspecious person is usually, they are known as a granthi also maybe it could be a giani , are these two same things we dont know??? Do you?? Well let me just think of the wonderful answer for this aspecious question. It could be like because they both work in the same place is a gurdwara. Like they have to stay religious in there lifes which is 8.4 million maybe even 10.2million. They have to look after the precious bowl of prashad. People bring milk and stuff to the gurdwara , the giania look after it as its very important and giani's look after it like a child. So basically your answer is the giani looks after the granthi and granthi looks after the giani soooo to the conclusion we dont know.

Why isn't there a woman Granthi in Sikhism?

A man or a woman can perform the services of a Granthi in a Gurdwara. There is no gender bar or any kind of discrimination against any person for becoming a Granthi. Sometimes, we do see a woman sitting in the service of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib during the Diwan time. Being a Granthi is a very hard and demanding job. It is very difficult for a woman, particularly if she has children, to serve a full time Granthi. This is a responsibility which sometimes requires working during odd hours. During a function, at the house of a Sikh, a Granthi is required to go early in the morning to arrange for the function and travel alone back to the Gurdwara. Because of the nature of the duty, it is performed jointly by the husband and the wife. They share this responsibility depending upon the nature and time of the duty.
