Other advances include bioengineering, which enables us to genetically engineer plants that will grow better in tougher conditions, be resistant to diseases and produce more product than they did in the wild. While there are some concerns about the safety of biologically engineered crops, they have helped to reduce some of the risks inherent in agriculture.
