Georgia sales tax differs from county to county and you are taxed based on the county you live in. If you live in another state you don't pay Georgia sales tax you'll pay the tax to your state when you register the car.
Three percent.
5 to 5.2% depending on the county you are in.
It's the same as the sales tax rate for whichever county you live in. Most counties are 6-7%.
As of right now the sales tax in GA on an automobile is based on your county of residence. Whatever you pay for anything in your county will be the same rate of tax for a new car. Even if you buy your new car out of state, your sales tax will be paid to GA at your county of residence rate. So if you live in say Cherokee County and it cost you 6% tax to buy a new pair of shoes at your local shoe retailer, it will also cost you 6% tax to buy a new car, even if you by it in a different county that has a higher or lower rate of tax. The only exception to this is buying a vehicle that is titled to an individual (i.e. private sale).
Yes ...and FYI the tax rate is based on the county of your residence and not where the car is bought.
