Some similarities are...

1) DNA is replicated in both during interphase.

2) Chromosomes formed in both during prophase.

3) Both prepare for cell division in metaphase by aligning chromosomes at equator.

4) Spindle fibers pull chromosomes apart in anaphase.

5) DNA condenses and two nuclei form.

Those are the only basic similarities that I am aware of.

every thing is the same in mitosis. but there is a difference and that is in cytokinesis. In animal cells a protein (middle belt) tightens membrane and causes division. In plant cells vesicles are produced from Golgi and come in the middle and divide the cells.

Everything is the same, they go through the same steps and everything, except, the plant cell forms a cell wall in the last step to separate it's self and the other half of it's new self. But plants do not go through this last stage.

There are many similarities in the process between the two cell types. DNA replication and chromosomal distribution still takes place. However, in an animal cell, a cleavage furrow forms where the membrane pinches off in cytokinesis to form the two offspring animal cells. In a plant cell, vesicles from the Golgi apparatus form a cell plate in the middle of the cell, eventually to become a cell wall and divide the two offspring plant cells.

What are the fundamental differences and similarities between animal cells plant cells?

Both cells contain a- cell membrane, nuclues, cytoplasm. Plant cells have- cell wall, chloroplast and a large vacuole. ^ those are the very common differences and similarities of the common cells:)

Does cell city represent a plant cell or an animal cell explain?

Plant is depicted in the cells by the plant do not have nucleus and a animal cells do. During mitosis many phases are explained. and so on and so fort.

What does not distinguish mitosis in plant cells from mitosis in animal cells?

A plant cell, during mitosis, has no centriole, so in the second phase [metaphase], spindle fibers do not connect to the [missing] centriole that move in opposite directions in animal cell mitosis. Also, instead of having a cleavage, like in animal cell mitosis, a cell plate forms. Animal cells do not have centrioles so the spindle fibers do not connect to centrioles and move to opposite poles, spindle fibers are instead formed by microtubules. Additionally, in the telophase in plant cells, the cytoplasm does not narrow or compress, a cell plate is instead formed in the centre of the cell and this divides it into two daughter cells.

How does mitosis in plants differ from mitosis in animals?

1. There are no centrioles in a plant cell whereas they are present in animal cells. 2. In cytokinesis, the final step of mitosis, a cell's cytoplasm separates in half with each half containing one nucleus. An animal cell membrane pinches in, creating a cleavage furrow until the mother cell is pinched in half. In plant cells, a new cell wall is constructed at what was the midline of the mother cell. 3. In plant cell during telophase, phragmoplast (acting myosin microtubules) forms in centre of cell where as in animal cell contractile ring forms approximately midway between the 2 nuclei of the dividing cell. 4. Plant cell has a cell wall & animal cell lacks it 5. In plant cell nuclear and cell division found in special regions called meristems where as in animal cell divides everywhere, all the time.

Where does mitosis occur in a plan?

In a plant, mitosis occurs in the plant's cells, the process is the same as mitosis in an animal cell, but the rigid cell wall does not move.

What does not occurs in plant cell mitoses but does in animal cell mitosis?

Does not form a cell wall

Are the similarities plant and animal cells?

The plant and animal cell are similar because the cell gives it it's structure.

Campare plant mitosis from animal mitosis?

They are basically the same, except in animal mitosis, the cell goes through cytokinesis, which means the cytoplasm splits in two. In plant cells the cell plate forms in between the newly separated nuclei, which turns into a cell wall of the cell.

What do you call the plant cell?

It is the same as animal cell division, mitosis followed by cytokinesis.

What are the similarities between plant and animal cell division?

eukaryotic

How can YOU tell whether cells in mitosis are animal or plant cells?

During telophase of mitosis, a cell plate is formed as the plant cell begins its division. In animal cells, the cell pinches in the center to form two cells; no cell plate is laid down.
