The highest cliffs in Europe are on Achill Island, in Mayo, Ireland, They stand at 664 metres but some claim they nearly top 700 metres. The cliffs at Slieve League in Donegal are not the highest as falsely advertised, as the stand at 595 metres (ordinance survey, 2008). The cliffs are named Croaghaun and may only be seen by boat or from the summit of the cliff. Cape Enniberg is the northernmost point of the Faroe Islands, located on the Island of Viðoy. It is 754 m above sea level, this makes it the highest cliff in Europe From the landside, only experienced mountain climbers with a trained local guide should attempt to scale the cliff. As a normal hiker, one can only reach a certain height on the trail without a problem. However, as in the rest of the Faroes, fog can roll in suddenly and linger for a long time. At the southern foot of the nearby 844 m high mountain, Villingadalsfjall, lies the picturesque town of Viðareiði. All summer long, as long as there is good weather, there are boating trips to Cape Enniberg. People come not only to see the cliff's imposing size, but also the famous bird colony found there. The colony is counted as the most important in the archipelago.
Some sources say that the highest cliff in the world, is Nanga Parbat's Rupal Flank, which rises approximately 15,000 feet, above its base. However, according to other sources, the highest cliff in the world, about 1,340 m high, is the east face of Great Trango.
Cape Enniberg, Faroe Islands. However there appears to be rival claims from Ireland and Madeira as well as others. Top tip is that the Faroese cliff is not that easy to access, whilst Cabo Girao has a cheap and handy cable car! Both are very impressive
