Vacuum leak, clogged/dirty fuel injector, bad spark plug/ wires.
Usually, there are numbers on the wires. If they're not there, Google it, it's your best friend.

Possible problems may be: * no gas in tank * no spark * clogged fuel line * inoperative fuel pump * defective voltage regulator * cracked or broken spark plug wires
there are many reasons, but the easiest to eliminate would be plugs,wires, cap, rotor and coil. after those it could even be a computer problem.
The 1988 Chevy Cavalier spark plug wires are quite easy to remove. The spark plug wires simply pull off on each end. Put the new spark light wires on by pushing downward on each end.
Follow the spark plug wires.... :)
