I think you are referring to the Septuagint. 99% of the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, some in Aramaic but for the most part Hebrew. In about 150 BC, 72 scholars translated Hebrew language Old Testament into Greek. Though this was a group of 72 scholars they rounded it off to 70 and called this version or translation the Septuagint or LXX in roman numerals. They were not Disciples but instead scholars.

Possibly you are thinking about these verses:

Luk 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Luk 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

These are followers of Jesus that he sent out to various parts of the country to preach the good news of the kingdom of God.
