I'm having a 3.0 bare block shipping to me now and it weighs in at 110 lbs packaged. Four pistons with rings and rods weighed 14 lbs. I was quoted on Ebay the total weight would be 250 lbs to ship a complete engine that was ready to go.

too much weight from too many keys cause the cylinder to wear out. try attaching key to breakaway keychain to reduce weight.
It would depend on your environment. If it stays well above freezing, straight 30 weight is fine.

Chevy did have a 4 cylinder in the S-10 but just like Ford does not offer 4WD with the 4 cylinder, Chevy may do the same. A search of "Chevy S-10 Specs" on Google will provide an answer.
