Chief Tishomino was from the area of present day Tishomingo Mississippi and died enroute to present day Tishomingo Oklahoma during the infamous Trail of Tears. Added Bonus Trivia: Tishomingo Oklahoma was the birthplace of a well regarded jurist named Alfred P. Murrah whose name was unknown by the general public until Timothy McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on 19 April 1995.

I live in Covington County, Mississippi. I'm pretty sure (99%) the answer is Issaquena County, located near Vicksburg on the Mississippi River. Issaquena County used to be a huge Delta County, growing much cotton and other produces. In 2000, the population was 2,274. The 2008 Census estimate put the County at 1,658 people, a 27% population decrease in only 8 years' time.
