If it is a window A/C, then there is probably ponded water in the unit causing the smell. Clean it out and add a few degrees of slope to tilt the A/C towards the outside. Also check to see if the drainage hole is blocked. You may also need to clean you air filter as if blocked... moisture can soak the filter also causing a smell.
If this is a "whole house" A/C then there is probably blockage in the condensation drainage lines, clean out the line to assure adequate drainage. If you have a pump for the condensation water then add a small amount of bleach to the pump reservoir.
A smell coming from a reverse cycle air conditioner may be a signal that the filter needs to be cleaned. A smell like engine exhaust might be present if the air conditioner motor is in need of repair.
sounds like your air conditioner compressor is bad.
It means that, your air conditioner isn't gas powered, so oftentimes people are concerned about where this type of smell could be coming from. However, there are fluids in the engine and other parts of your air conditioner which can leak out, causing this exhaust fume odor.
It sounds like there is a leak inthe evaporator section of your air conditioner. If this continues, the air conditioner will no longer cool and you may have to replace several components of the system. The smell is that of atomized esther oil.
because you have too many dead babies in your air conditioner tank
An air conditioner should not smell like smoke when turned on (or when turned off). I would have to suspect that the electrical insulation is burning.
I get hot air coming out of my air conditioner on the passenger side, while I get cold air coming out the drivers side. Can you tell me why and how do I find the schematic to fix it?
It's probably mold. You can buy chemicals that are added through the intake that might fix it.
This has much to do with how the air conditioner and the heater is vented. If the air conditioner draws its air from outside it could be picking up air / smell of smoke from the other family and then redistributing it into your home. A heater on the other had usually has a heater input vent within the house it is heating (it draws the interior air in and then heats it blowing it back out) as the air within the home will be significantly warmer than the exterior air.
That is condensation and it is normal for water to come out of an air conditioner in the back of it.
If there is no cold air coming from the air conditioner on a Honda Odyssey the condenserÊmay have failed. No cold air coming from the air conditioner can also mean that the unit needs to be recharged.
clean it, then spray it with air freshener.
