The Mindanao war and Sabah issue is a complementary topic . The reason of war existence in Mindanao is simply a product of Sabah issue. President Marcos has trained 300 Tausug people of Mindanao to assist them in taking back Sabah but because of the political situation it blew out of proportion.Benigno Aquino has exposed the secret deal of President Marcos to the Tausug people of Mindanao, that resulted to abort the training of 300 Tausugs and thereby order to demolish the trainee. This resulted animosity from the Tausug people and afterwards counter by Malaysia and offer the Tausugs to take side with them as Muslim brother.

Malaysia helped to established the MNLF under the banner of Nur Misuari to claim for "Bangsa Moro country ". Malaysia has trained the first batch of 90 MNLF commander in Banggi island and succeeded by 300 to fight against the Philippine government as a seccessionist group. It is now a common knowledge that Malaysia has supplied the arms and money to MNLF and later to MILF for the last 33 years of the seccessionist movement.

Malaysia seems entangled on the same problem like President Marcos in supporting the Tausugs , when Nur Misuari has openly declare the independence of his Bangsa Moro country that resulted in bloody death of MNLF members , the Philippine government put up a manhunt to Nur Misuari for his rebellion case.Nur Misuari run to Malaysia to take refuge but because Malaysia is avoiding political and possible diplomatic sanction, Malaysia surrendered Nur Misuari to the Philippine government. Nur Misuari was ditched by Malaysia in sight to avoid repercussions. Nur Misuari is believed to be assisted by Malaysia through intermediaries in Philippine judicial to obtain temporary freedom in fear he might confess as whisle blower against Malaysia. Nur Misuari has obtain a bail after few years which is not normal for an unbailable case like rebellion..

It was said that until now Malaysia is supplying arms and money to Mindanao war which was partly condoned by the Philippine government for some reason. There are rumors that Malaysia and Philippines could have agreed bilaterally to maintain the war in Mindanao. According to some analyst, the war in Mindanao is a must, to hamper the development of the Muslim population , which will be an advantage to both Philippines and Malaysia to avoid the idea of the Tausugs of their claim to both Sabah and Sulu for independence.Malaysia could be practically playing their cards that if Mindanao as a whole will become independent, Sulu will be sandwiched to finally annexed to sabah and become part of Malaysia. There is current consensus that the money earned by Malaysia out of Sabah is being invested back to the Philippines for this idea.

SSNBK under the traditional and cultural leadership of HRH Sultan Esmail Kiram II was aware of the political developments. The Sultan has opened his arms to reconcile this complex problem by exercising his traditional and cultural leadership to act as the bridge between two political governments of Malaysia and Philippines. His HRH Sultan Esmail D. Kiram respect the " De Jure Govermnment " in place and his exercise of his " De Facto Leadership " will finally cure the problems . The Sultan being a spiritual man sees the continual sufferrings of his people and wanted to end the endless bloodbath in Mindanao in these last 33 years, by implementing his Traditional Leadership. Political solution has no way to solve the problem in Mindanao , but by Traditional and Cultural formula of binding the people of both Sabah and Mindanao under one Cultural and traditional leader, under the structure of their respective political governments.

Who Liberate Sabah from the Japanese During World War 2?

It was the 9th Infantry Division of Australian Military that liberate Sabah from the Japanese during World War II as part of the campaign to drive back the Japanese. Sabah was turnover to British Military for safekeeping because under the Charter Agreement of BNBCC and the British Crown , Sabah is under the protectorate of the British Royal Crown. BNBCC is the original "Lessee" to the 1878 " Lease Contract " of Sabah. In 1948 the British Crown has returned to BNBCC the control of Sabah but due to lack of Finances has forced to be assisted by the British and absorbed the administration of Sabah. In 1963 Malaysia got their independence and continue the administration of Sabah by continuing to pay the yearly rental based from the original Lease Contract of 1878.

Will Malaysia return Sabah to the rightfull owner?

Returning Sabah may not be the issue for Malaysia, but the interest of Malaysia to Profit out of Sabah. It was said that the net profit of Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak combined could be 40 to 50 % of their GNP . Looking closely , Malaysia will not let Sabah and Sarawak go off their hand without provocation of a probable war. However, the advent of modern advocacy under UN charters may put end to this long and standing problem of Sabah like Hongkong that was returned to China lately, Forfeiting the real owner of their rights as the legitimate and sovereign owner of the land, the Sultanate of Sulu is now at the mercy of the UN or any country that will sponsor the case against Malaysia. Many countries of the world now has managed to get away from their captors through the intervention of UN. The problem today of finding a sponsor country for the Sultanate remains unclear, since the Sultanate of Sulu has been stripped out of her Political power to become a member nation of UN.The only probable solution is to privately lodge a case to ICJ if will be permitted. To return Sabah to the Sultanate of Sulu is almost as impossible task but hope is still and miracle could happen only as an alternative.
