There is a editor just like the tryit editor at http://tryiteditor.webs.com . It works in all browsers and you can look at the free source code to see how it works!
You may view the source of any (If not, most) webpage(s) by right-clicking the page, and selecting "View Source" (That is, if you use internet Explorer).
Note that, sometimes, pages are dynamically made with PHP or ASP, or other dynamic languages. There is actually more markup than you see, if this is the case.
If you would like to view the real markup of a webpage file, such as the PHP or ASP...

Creating source code in any programming language requires nothing more than a plain text editor. However, a text editor specifically tailored to the programming language makes it easier to write the source code as the editor can automatically format and indent your code, provide syntax highlighting, code completion, and so on. Using an IDE (integrated development environment) makes it easier still, combining the code editor with a debugger and other development tools.
Check out open source sites, such as FreshMeat or SourceForge, or the GNU project.

Java source code is a plain text file, so you can use practically any editor, for example NotePad (included in Windows) or better programs such as the freeware NotePad++. However, it is usually more convenient to use the editor included in an IDE that has support for Java.
If you mean the source code, you can use any text editor, or you can use the IDE.
Editing and compiling a systems program requires access to the source code as well as included source/header files and libraries. Commercial source code is only available if it is distributed under an open source licence while closed source is only available if you receive or purchase rights to the source code from the vendor. Once you have access to the source code, any text editor can be used to edit the code although A code editor specific to the language may make things easier. You also need a compiler to compile the edited code, including the "make" file if there is one. Source code may be compiler-dependent and/or architecture-dependent and you may need the same compiler and/or architecture used for the original source.
Any plain text editor (like notepad) can be used to edit HTML code. Most developers prefer to use a more complex editor like Dreamweaver or Editplus which assists by auto-formatting and giving code hints.
The source of the Linux kernel, as well as most programs that run on it, is publicly available. You can edit the source with any text editor, although you may prefer one with syntax highlighting. The configuration files necessary to actually operate Linux are also editable with a standard text editor.
