What powers the earth's rock cycle?

Heat from the earth's core, via the magma drives the tectonic part of the rock cycle. This heat is derived mainly from radioactive fission of the heavy elements in the Core.Gravity drives much of the weathering part of the rock cycle. Via evaporation of water, and rain and rivers, and glaciation. Some solar radiation also energizes part of the weathering part of the rock cycle.

What drives the hydrological cycle?

The forceing of what drives hydrological cycle is the sun.

What are the two primary energy sources for the rock cycle?

The heat from the centre of the Earth (fueled by nuclear fission and therefore the energy of an ancient supernova explosion) which drives tectonic convection processes. The heat from the Sun which drives the erosion processes.

What force drives the water cycle ?

Solar energy drives water cycle. It helps in evaporation.

What powers earth's rock cycle?

Heat from the Earth's core which drives lithospheric plate movements, and provides a magnetosphere which allows an atmosphere to exist. english not random stuff please

What is the ultimate source of energy that drives the process in the rock cycle when hot material rising in the Earth generates uplift which in turn promotes erosion?

Radioactive heat

What is an energy cycle?

This is a closed cycle as used in heat engines. There are various types but a widely used one is the Rankine cycle used in power plants. In this water is pumped into a heat exchanger (boiler if you like) where it is heated, turns to steam, which is then expanded in a steam turbine down to a vacuum, providing the energy that drives the turbine. The steam is then condensed by the cooling water in the turbine condenser, so that it exits at more or less ambient temperature and low pressure, then it is compressed and pumped back into the heat exchanger, completing the cycle. In this way energy is transferred from the heat source (coal or natural gas furnace or nuclear reactor) to do mechanical work in the turbine, which drives the generator.
