Ford 4.0 L SOHC : firing order is ( 1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 6 ) The engine cylinders are numbered 1 , 2 , 3 on the passenger side of the engine from front to back and 4 , 5 , 6 on the drivers side from front to back The coil pack locations are , in the row of three nearest the passenger side , 4 , 6 , 5 going from front to back and in the row of three nearest the drivers side 3 , 2 , 1 from front to back 5----1---coil 6----2---pack 4----3--plug
