It's part of the electronic engine controls.
The speed limiter is set at 112mph for base models and 141mph for the SHO.
The limiter is set to like 153 MPH.
82mph is the max speed the computer can be set at
It 's limiter is set to 100mph.
You can't as it is factory set.
If it has the Throttle body injection 305 it is set at 115MPH. If it has either of the Tuned Port Injection motors there is no governer to limit speed.
The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt has a factory speed limiter set at 151 miles per hour.
The ECU has a cruise control speed limiter that will not allow the cruise control to be set after that speed has been exceeded.
Yes they do, the automatic has a rev limiter set to about 4300 rpm when in park. Also non Sport models come with a top speed fuel shut off at 115mph, sport models are set at 137mph. With the fuel shut off removed top speed is 153mph!
The top speed limit is set in the program running in the ECM (Engine Control Module). Someone once told me for the Grand Am, the limit was set by the speed rating of the OEM tires.
in the pcm. don't make em with govenors anymoreAnswerThere is a speed limiter if this is what you mean. It is set right about 120mph. In mine it hits about 121-122ish. . depending on what Mazda 6 you have. you may not have a speed sensor. a V6 Mazda 6 with ABS doesnt have a speed sensor........the speed is calculated thru the abs sensors and is intertwined with the TCS system.the 6 ecu is multi plex and the only way to disable the speed limiter is with tuning(reprogramming the ecu)
ive been 160 in a 94 hatch and never hit a speed limit.....the only thing is a rev limiter...most engines are set tht way so the motor isn't damaged by the high rpms....the easiest way to raise rpm is get a performance enhancement chip fairly decent priced....depending on wat ur lookin for
