It simply means that the DC component of diode output is proportional to the square

of the AC input voltage. So if you reduce RF input voltage by half, you'll get one quarter as much DC output.

Or if you apply ten times as much RF input, you get 100 times as much DC output as you did before. An

increase of 3dB results in twice as much output voltage. All diodes will follow

the square-law rule for small signals. We

should choose one that is fast, so 1N4000-

series power diodes are out. Any diode with a

lot of capacitance is out. Diodes with a sharp

I vs. V curve will give more output, so silicon

diodes are less desirable. Schottky diodes are

great, but they require DC biasing to get into

the really curved part of the I vs.V curve.

With zero bias, a germanium diode has very

decent qualities (apart from nasty

temperature effects). When Hewlett Packard

makes square-law diodes using exotic

semiconductors like gallium arsenide with

molecular-beam-epitaxy machines, the result

looks remarkably similar to a simple pointcontact

germanium diode like a 1N34A.

What is square law detection?

Square law detection is a method used in communication systems to demodulate analog signals. It relies on multiplying the input signal with itself to obtain the power of the signal, which contains information about the original signal. This method is commonly used in amplitude modulation systems for recovering the original message signal.

The purpose of a Whistler radar detector is to detect the speed of the motorists, if it is being monitored by police or law enforcement by a radar gun.

Is it legal not to own a carbon monoxide gas detector in the US?

I believe that it is law in some states to have a carbon monoxide detector, but regardless of whether or not it is law, it would be extremely wise to invest in a good working carbon monoxide gas detector. It is an odorless gas, and is a silent killer. Do yourself a favour and replace the one that is not working.

Why do they not apply a lie detector test in the court of law?

Lie detector test is one of the due process investigation of the suspect. but this is not the basis of the case if the suspect is guilty of the charges.

Is a lie detector 99.9 percent accurate?

No. They can be fooled which is why they are not admissible as evidence in a court of law (at least in the US)

Would wife take lie detecter test if she cheated?

Lie detector tests are not 100% accurate and although given by law they are not admissibly in a court of law and using a lie detector is not used for public use; therefore it would not make any point for your wife to take a lie detector test. Hypothetically, if your wife did cheat she would probably decline taking the test.

What stage of the receiver demodulates or removes the carrier waves from the audio waves?

Answer: In some demodulaters like synchronous detector carrier is multiplied. then obtained wave form is passed through low pass filter. here carrier is removed In some demodultors such as square law detector non linear device is used and there after low pass filter is used. At low pass filter carrier is filtered
