Godiva was the wife of Leofric Earl of Mercia in 11th century England and famous for riding, in protest against taxation of the poor, naked through the centre of Coventry and the market square. Since WW2 the centre of the City has had a great deal of remodelling. But start at the New Cathedral with your local guide book and you will find most things Peeping Tom. Legend has it that a young boy called Tom sneaked a peek at the Lady and was struck blind. And henceforth........................
