39" to 43" is the bar height guideline ,then the height of the top of the rail will be around 6 to 9". It should stick out from the face of the bar to allow room for most of a customer's feet, at least 7 to 8" but should still be close enough to the customer's edge of the bar so that he can reach it. For those customers that like standing , you want the foot rail to be about 6-10" from the outside

edge of the bar.

There are two schools of thought: one says the bottom edge of the chair rail should be 32 inches from the floor. Another says you should measure the height of the wall (distance from floor to ceiling) and divide it by 3, then install the chair rail at this 1/3 distance from the floor. Ultimately, from a practical point of view, bring one of your chairs close to the wall and see where it will hit the wall and place the rail right there.

General rule: Chair rail should be 1/3 up from floor. This is between 32' and 36" for a normal 8 ft. ceiling.

Why are there railings on a bar?

I assume the 'railings' mean the horizontal bar that often runs on the floor along the foot of the bar. If this is the case, the bar is there so a patron standing or leaning while drinking at the bar can put a foot on it - so the rail is a foot bar.

What is a rail track bar size and material?

If i understand the question correctly, the bar size and it's material depends on the weight of rail that is bought...the weight of the rail is determined by a three foot section, there are various types of rail, for instance, a 115RE rail means that brand new that rail will weigh 115 lbs per three foot. The bar has to match the rail because different rail are different heights, weights, and overall, different measurements on a cross section
