∙ 14y agoIf something you have done - or been accused of doing - is actionable, then typically there are time limits as to when a person can sue you. Or for that matter, bring criminal charges.
On the other hand, a company is not a city or state. While the state may stop pursuing you for stealing fifty dollars from a gas station after seven years has gone by, a company that discovers you were the one who stole fifty dollars from them ten years ago will still fire you. Or twenty years. And they are allowed to.

∙ 14y agohuman resources have limitations of things they can do and can't like every other department in a organisations, but HR are different as they are there for the well being of the humans involved in the company,
Human resources is responsible for overseeing and developing programs to support health and safety in the workplace. They are responsible for making sure federal laws are followed.
