Al-Khwarizmi left a golden rule for the world to create science with. The al-Khwarizmi principle states that all complex problems of science must be and can be solved by means of the following five simple steps:

  1. Break down each problem into a number of elemental or 'atomic' steps. An elemental or atomic step is one, which cannot be simplified any further.
  2. Second, arrange all the elements or steps of the problem in an order or sequence, such that each element can be taken up and solved one at a time, without affecting other parts of the problem.
  3. Next, find a way to solve each of the elements separately. Because each element has been simplified to the maximum, it is very likely that the solution of an elemental step will itself be extremely simple or elemental making it available with relative ease.
  4. Then proceed to solve each element of the problem, either one at a time or several at a time, but in the correct order.
  5. Thus, when all steps are solved, the original problem itself has also been solved.

Al-Khwarizmi's problem-solving method, known as Algorism, involved breaking down mathematical problems into simple steps. This method included identifying the problem, devising a plan, executing the plan, and reviewing the solution. Algorism laid the foundation for modern algebra and algorithm development.

What is the difference between teaching approach and techniques?

A teaching approach is the overall philosophy or method used to guide instruction, such as constructivism or behaviorism. Teaching techniques are the specific strategies or methods employed within a teaching approach to help students learn, such as group discussions or problem-based learning.

How can you make use of pupil centered teaching methods?

Pupil-centered teaching methods focus on actively engaging students in their own learning process. Teachers can incorporate methods like group discussions, project-based learning, and problem-solving activities to encourage students to be more active participants in their learning. By providing opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning, pupil-centered teaching methods can help foster critical thinking skills and promote a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

What are the parts of mathematical investigatory project?

A mathematical investigatory project typically includes an introduction outlining the problem or topic of interest, a literature review discussing existing research on the subject, a methodology section detailing the approach used to investigate the problem, results presenting the findings of the investigation, and a conclusion summarizing the key points and implications of the project.

What is the difference between a method and methodology?

A method refers to a specific technique or approach used to achieve a particular goal or solve a problem within a field. On the other hand, methodology is the overarching system of principles, rules, and procedures that guides the use of methods in a given context. In essence, a method is a specific tool, while methodology is the broader framework that governs how and when to use that tool.

What is method and methodology?

A method refers to a specific procedure or technique used to carry out a task or research. Methodology, on the other hand, encompasses the theoretical framework and overall approach guiding the use of methods to address a research problem or achieve a goal.
