When I changed mine, I didn't have much gas in it, made sure it was off for a while so the fuel line wasn't pressurized- then slowly disconected .Then put the new one in- make sure its facing the right way- arrows indicate flow. Its located underneath the truck about where the driver sits.

Yes, it is easy IF you have the right filter. Make sure you buy a Delco-Remy filter and not some off brand because the shape of the filter is different and an off brand will not fit in the filter bracket.
