Macbeth meets some witches who give him some prophecies of his life. One of these comes true and it makes him ambitious to become a King. His wife hears and then manipulates him to kill the King to take his place. Doing this he feels traumatised but he soon hardens, and his wife - who seemed to be the heartless villain - then deteriorates mentally as the play continues. Macbeth then feels his position is threatened by his friend Banquo, so orders men to kill him and his son. He then is forced to admit what he's done when he's haunted by his friend's ghost. He returns to the witches for a confidence boost and tell him he's pretty much invincible (or so it sounds). His wife is still deteriorating and ends up killing herself when she can't get the blood (guilt) off her hands. Macbeth has Macduff's family killed (the son of the king) because the witches told him to be wary of him. Macduff's family is killed but not him, and goes to Scotland with Malcolm to kill Macbeth. Macduff chops off Macbeth's head (Macduff was born of cesarean) and Malcolm becomes king.

The plot of the story
The story starts when Macbeth and Banquo were coming from a war's victory. The story took places at Scotland.Aburtly the maneuver disturbed by a spine-chilling noise. The sound came from three witches. The first witch told 'hail Macbeth,Thane of Glamis'.The second witch told 'Hail Macbeth,Thane of Cawder'.The third witch told 'hail Macbeth,King'.Macbeth was puzzled and confused. The witches also told Banquo that he woundn't be the king but his generation would be.Banquo didn't believe one thing the witches told.Macbeth had believed the witches prophecy half but was still not statisfied. But when one of the messenger came to Macbeth and told that the Thane of Cawder had betrayed the kingdom and Macbeth became Thane of Cawder
Macbeth, successful general and third in line to the Scottish throne, meets up with some witches who predict that he will become king. Although he has doubts, his wife pushes him to kill the king and frame the first and second heirs. He does become king, but guilt makes him murderously paranoid and drives his wife crazy. Eventually they become intolerable to the Scottish people and a military expedition deposes Macbeth. It's a study in the psychology of guilt, and how it can eat away at your soul, leaving an empty monster.
Macbeth, cousin to King Duncan of Scotland and successful military commander, is returning from battle with his buddy Banquo when three witches run into them and predict that he will be king. He writes this to his wife, and when he arrives home with the royal court in tow, she persuades him to murder the king and blame it on his servants. They do this and the kings sons, fearing that they will be blamed, run off. Macbeth becomes king. But he is still worried about Banquo so he hires murderers to kill him. Banquo's ghost appears to Macbeth in the middle of a dinner party, ruining his wife's bid to be the perfect hostess. She eventually goes crazy, walks in her sleep, and, it is suggested, kills herself. Meantime, Macbeth goes back to the witches who give him new prophecies which suggest that he is pretty safe on the throne but to watch out for Macduff. Macbeth then has Macduff's wife and children murdered. The news of this comes to Macduff in England, where he is joining a group of Englishmen and Scottish expatriates in an effort to depose Macbeth and install Malcolm, son of Duncan as king. This they do and Macduff gets his revenge by beheading Macbeth.
Macbeth is a traitor to Scottland in the play of Macbeth. This is pretty much the basis of the play here in Shakespeares words. Macbeth is the main plot character.

If Macbeth and his wife stood trial today, she would probably receive a greater sentence than he. She hatched the plot and incited him to do the deed.
it is suggested that it is ralated to his play Macbeth but no one can know for sure.
Irrelevant. The portions of Macbeth which feature Hecate are thought not to have been written by Shakespeare, are not helpful to the plot and are rarely if ever performed.
He wanted to add suspense to the developing plot.
it isn't relavant to the play and therefore it is not answered in the plot of Macbeth.

In Act 1 of Macbeth, the witches prophesize Macbeth's rise to power, King Duncan's army wins a battle against rebels, Macbeth receives the title of Thane of Cawdor, Lady Macbeth plans Duncan's murder, and Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plot to seize the throne.
In Act 3 of Macbeth, Macbeth becomes suspicious that Banquo poses a threat to his throne. He worries that Banquo's descendants will inherit the crown, as the witches prophesied. This suspicion leads Macbeth to plot Banquo's murder.
That's the technique Lady Macbeth used to enlist Macbeth in the plot to kill Duncan.

Macbeth's references to "equivocators" could be a reference to the defences put up by those accused in the Gunpowder Plot, which they specifically called "equivocating".
The Gunpowder Plot was a failed assassination attempt on King James I in 1605, while Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare in 1606. The events of the Gunpowder Plot might have influenced the themes of treachery, power struggles, and political instability in Macbeth, as Shakespeare often incorporated contemporary events and concerns into his plays.
