A cell wall can be made up of different things depending on what organism you're talking about.
* A plant has a cell wall made out of cellulose * A fungi has a cell wall made out of chitin (also found in exoskeleton of insects) * A bacteria has a cell wall made out of glycoprotein
It depends what cell wall you are on about; plant cell walls are made up of cellulose. Gram Positive Bacterias cell walls are made up of a thick layer of peptidoglycan. Gram Negative Bacterias cell walls are made up of a thin layer of peptidoglycan and a lipid layer.
