While this statement is probably correct, it does not really help students trying to transfer money from their international accounts. We used the SWIFT code for Wells Fargo bank and it worked great! Make sure you give your normal TCF Bank routing number & account number along with this SWIFT code. Since we did the wire transfer, the money was in my TCF bank account within a few hours (give it 24 hours max)!

Any international bank should have a coorespondent bank inside the US for transferring money to this country. The funds will then be forwarded to TCF using TCF's routing number.
