The relationship is called parasitism, because the tick bird could hurt the giraffe, but the tick brid gets helped and when one animal gets harmed and one animal gets helped it is called parasitism.

The tickbird feeds on the ticks that are attached to the cattle - the tickbird benefits from having a steady supply of food readily available and the cow benefits because the bird removes ticks from its body.
