Symptoms of when a fuel pump goes bad?

The vehicle will stop running and refuse to start. In most cases the pump either works or it don't. In some cases it can put out low pressure allowing the engine to only idle. It depends on make and model of your vehicle. Also if the fuel pump regulator is vacuum driven check vacuum line, what usually happens is the regulator diaphragm breaks inside the fuel regulator allow full fuel flow to the injectors causing severe flooding to the point where i have seen gasoline running out of the tail pipe, which will cause extreme engine damage. So pay attention to what the car symptoms are telling you.
