The office was created shortly after the formation of the Roman Republic when the plebians revolted against the patrician class in what today might be called a general strike.

The system of electing religious to office is commonly referred to as a theocracy. In a theocracy, religious leaders or institutions hold political power and influence over the government and society, often guided by religious laws or principles.

Religious leaders have enough experience with community services which could serve as their primary knowledge about people's needs. Admitting that it wouldn't compare to other politician's credibility, if we really think about it.. countries thriving in corruption doesn't necessarily need intellectual leaders.. but leaders with a strong moral character; built with dedication and honesty. A religious leader is a man for other people. It might work if he is also a political leader for the people. Not like many politicians.. who are only for themselves.
Both religious books and religious leaders play integral roles in guiding and shaping religious beliefs and practices. Religious books provide foundational teachings and principles, while religious leaders offer interpretation, guidance, and support to followers in applying those teachings to their lives. Both are important in influencing the beliefs and actions of individuals within a religious community.

A local or judicial election in which candidates are not selected or endorsed by political parties and party affiliation is not listed on ballots is a nonpartisan election.
The restrict choices available to the voters, sometime to the detriment of the election, and provide party members with a clear indication of who the party leadership wishes to see elected to the office.
Caste systems in some societies serve as an example of restricted social mobility. In these systems, individuals are unable to move out of the social group they are born into, limiting their opportunities for advancement and progress within the society.
