The two main functions of joints are for support and movement. Joints allow you to move your body and to support it and hold the bones together.
These joints are called fixed joints.
It allows it to transport fluids called phloem and xylem, which carry water and nutrients, through the plant, starting with the roots and going all the way up to the leaves.
Hinges joints only allow movement in two directions, which are forward and backward. Knees and elbows are examples of hinge joints.
Fibrous joints, allows little or no movement
Skeletal or voluntary muscles attach to the skeleton and allow movement. In contrast, smooth muscles are not under voluntary control.
Wings and feet allow for a bald eagle's movement.

A conductor is something that allows for the movement of tiny charge carrying particles called electrons across the surface. The specific elements that make up wood and the way that its molecules are arranged don't allow for ease of movement of electrons across its surface.
An open system allows for exchanges of matter and energy with its environment, while a closed system does not allow for exchange of matter but may allow exchange of energy. In an open system, there is a constant flow of input and output, whereas in a closed system, the total amount of matter remains constant.
