Normally no. You can get paid for climbing Mt. McKinley if you're a guide or outfitter or working as a scientist, but typically a climber is doing it for sport and the adventure of it. If that's the case then it's just the oposite. It will actually cost you a large amount of money to make the climb. The equipment needed is very expensive due to the quality level of equipment needed. There are also permits needed, the expense of getting to the mountain before you can even begin climbing......getting to Alaska, flying a small charter plane to the base of the mountain, etc. The food, clothing, everything is very specialized and expensive. And if you need aid or rescue the cost can be crazy high.
The amount of time needed to walk around the base of a mountain depends on which mountain and how big it is.
God called Moses to climb Mount Sinai. Why? Simply put Moses needed a break! Why would the scripture say moses was called to the top of a mountain, then say He went to the top of the mountain...? Isn't that kinda repetitive? When Moses was called to the top of the mountain, It was Gods way of saying climb the mountain and be on top of the mountain. So often we can be on the mountain but inside we can be somewhere else. He was saying to Moses Leave your worries and concerns at the bottom of the mountain and be with Me... don't even think about how to get down... just be on top of the mountain!

Myths do not have morals. They are stories that either explain a natural event, or present an image of heroism to abide by and strive for. Pegasus is one of the personifications of lightning. Even the story of Bellerphon didn't have a moral so much as it gave warning that even demigods needed an invitation to visit the peak of Olympus (which was one way to keep every rock climber in Greece from scaling the mountain and finding... well... nothing).
