There is no real difference between the day and night temperatures, since the highest temperature in the cloud tops is about 72 K (-201 degrees C) and the temperature below is 55 K (-218 degrees C). Neptune is so far from the Sun that the solar heating on the "day" side only penetrates a few miles into the dense atmosphere. What heat there is beneath the clouds comes from the interior of the planet.
