We don't have temples or churches in Islam but mosques. The "leader" as such is known as the imam. The imam leads prayers and usually speaks, though others are invited to lead prayers as well and guest speakers are common. "Imam" means leader and as any human being can lead the others, any Muslim can be an imam to others. However, if you are Shi'a then imam has a different meaning.
There is no church in Islam, there is no Muslim church in the sense of leadership. There is no human authority between the one who is created and the one who created them in Islam to forgive sins. In other words, there is no clergy in Islam.
By the way, mosques do not function like a church. A Muslim does not need any building to communicate with Allah(God). After cleaning your body with water according to Islamic procedure, any clean place can be used to pray.
