The 2010 Camaro SS is electronically limited to 155mph. Attempting to accelerate beyond that will cause the engine computer to shut off the fuel supply.

The L99 and LS3 engines used in the automatic and manual transmission versions of this car (respectively) are already known entities, and it should be relatively simple for an experienced performance tuner to adjust or bypass this limit. In that context, the actual top speed achievable by these vehicles is not yet known.

Also, the high-speed aerodynamics of the fifth-generation Camaro have not yet been explored by the general public. It is possible that the Camaro will exhibit unfavorable dynamics (e.g. front-end lift) at such high speeds, which would make going faster impractical without aerodynamic modifications.

I just read in Popular Mechanics that the author of the article had his stock SS camaro tuned so that the limiter was disabled. In the salt flats, he recorded a top speed of 174 mph.
