2005 Scion tC with 31000 miles on the odometer The dealer has recommended an 85 dollar power steering flush Is this necessary?
Depends on the condition of the fluid. Toyota's use Dexron in their power steering system. Normally this looks like red kool-aid or Nyquil. If it is black and dirty, then it needs changed. Most cars do not need this service until closer to 100,000. However, some cars (the Tc included) do not properl…y cool the power steering fluid and the fluid overheats, scorches, and turns black. I would replace the power steering fluid - a flush may not be necessary, just a drain and fill. You can do this yourself in < 30 minutes if you can take off the front passenger side wheel and have a pair of pliers to disconnect the power steering line. To do yourself Disconnect the PS line behind the front passenger wheel, let the fluid drain out, reconnect the line and clamp, refill the reservoir. Put the wheel back on. If you have jack stands to properly support your car you can leave it up, if you only have the jack that came with the car, let the car down for these next steps. To bleed air from the system - Turn the wheel lock to lock (all the way left, all the way right) and refill the reservoir. Turn the car on and let the air work its way out of the system (5 to 10 min) and refill the resevior. With the enginge running, again turn the wheel lock to lock and refill the resivior. At this point most of the air should be out of the system, if there is still air in the system your steering will be loud(gurgly?) intermittently. You can continue to turn the wheel lock to lock or take a (short) drive around the neighborhood to let any remaining air out. When you're done, double check the resivior level and look for any leaks. All Release Series tCs have a plaque mounted on the dash below the center vents that says which RS it is and which number it is (shown as "45 of 2600" for example). Each Release Series had it's own unique color: RS 1.0 - Absolutely Red RS 2.0 - Blue Blitz Mica RS 3.0 - Blizzard Pearl RS 4….0 - Galactic Gray Mica If your car is not one of those colors and does not have the plaque it is not a Release Series, it is a regular Scion tC. Put the key in the ignition, make sure the car is in Park if it is an automatic, or make sure the clutch is depressed if it is a manual. Turn key to the start position (full clockwise) until you hear the motor start, then release the key.
You can find Wiring Diagrams for Scion tC 2005-2007 at the ScionLife forum.. link:. http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=138455
Answer Try on the remote, UNLOCK + LOCK + LOCK. That should do it. After the car starts, just UNLOCK + UNLOCK to unlock all doors. Once you get in (without pressing pedals), just put key in and TURN to ON. Do not turn to START or you will attempt to start an already running engine. Not all Scion tC…'s come with this feature though. You may need to have andafter-market one installed. or The remote engine starter is operated by pushing the `lock` button on the keyless entry fob in a quick, three-step sequence: (1) push and release `lock` button; (2) push and release `lock` button again; (3) then push and hold `lock` button for three seconds-and the engine starts. The engine can also be stopped remotely by pushing the `unlock` button once, or by pushing and holding the lock button for two seconds or more. ( Full Answer )
It is probably a burned thermal switch. I had the same thing on my car and had to replace the thermal switch
The way you reset the low pressure light on a scion tc 05' is:. Open the glove department and at the top left of the glove department there is a button and first make sure your car is on and in park with your foot on the brake and once you have done that then hold the button until you see the press…ure light go away. sounds really silly, but just pull up on the corners of the seat. It will pop right out.
As far as I know it is not recommended but in a pinch it is 2000lbs.
\ndisconect the battery for 5 min, but this also resets the windows, sunroof, stereo, and clook.
\nlook in the drivers side where the door closes, it has a sticker with all the info you need.
Front set at 32psi. Rear set at 29psi. 32psi for the front cuz of the motor.. It also will tell you in the owners manual

To answer your question because your obviously blind there's a main fuse box that houses fuses such as (e.g. RAD, DOME, IGN, ect, ect, ect) which is located under the hood of the vehicle on the drivers side of the engine, it is a black box roughly 3x5inches in diameter and is located in front of the… air filter. There's another fuse box inside the vehicle on the drivers side under the steering wheel which can only be seen by removing a very hard to miss removable panel. no such thing, 2004 was the first year. and they are under the engine cover.
You left the gas cap off on your 2005 Scion Tc and the check engine light came on how do you reset it?
My 2006 xA engine light will periodically come on even thought the gas cap is on. When that happens, I remove the cap and replace it double-clicking it to make sure it is sealed tight.. I'm going to try and clean the gasket on the cap and where the gasket seals on the tube to remody the problem.
The 2005 Scion TC takes 26" drivers and 16" passenger side wiper blades. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only. Be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model a…nd year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment. ( Full Answer )
I have a 2006 Scion TC that Ive already put 120k miles on from commuting back and forth on the LA freeways for work. Ive never had any major problems and it still runs like a charm. Toyota doesn't skimp or disappoint on quality. I expect to put 200k miles on this.
I own a 2007 Scoin tC with a AEM cold air intake and a Magnaflow cat back and i would say the downfall is its weight and the fact that it is really top heavy. All that glass and that big sliding sun roof come at a cost and that is weight. I would not say that it is a true negative. I love the car an…d will never regret buying it, but if i were to pick two things that would be them. Other than that the car is great, I consistly get 30 to 32 miles per gallon on road trips and i get around 24 to 25 around town. Happy Motering! ( Full Answer )
Scion generally uses Toyota engines, so try looking for something like corolla engine.. This is why Scions cost a little more, the engine longevity is much better than most cars.
1 you have to remove the shift knob. it unscrews. 2 remove the cover surrounding the shift knob. start from the area where the knob is located and put your hands on both sides on the silver accent and lift up. you have to pull hard, then continue to pull while moving your way down towards the cup ho…lders. 3 once that is off unplug the cigarette lighter. 4 pull off the accent around the radio. its all one piece and you remove it similar to the one surrounding the shift knob. it includes the middle A/C vents, radio cover and the A/C controls If you a visual or just more information, check out the site below. It shows step by step instruction with corresponding pictures. http://www.installer.com/pdf/99-8209.pdf ( Full Answer )
Msrp for a new 2010 is $17,770 for manual and $18,570 for an automatic. Visit the main website to build your own and for more details http://www.scion.com/#tC .
I personally don't drive one but, as of 2008 sale reports, about 230,000 have been sold.
Remove the radiator cap when the engine is cool and add the coolant into the radiator or you can add to the coolant overflow bottle. DON'T remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot!!!
i drove mine which is bone stock next to my friends RSX-type s down the road and it topped out at 90 M.P.H
If you mean how many quarts of oil it's 4 if you're also changing the filter. Less if you're not changing the filter.
the filter is in the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump, so if the filter needs changing so does the pump. access is under the rear seats.
Normally a timing chain will last the life of the engine and is replaced during a complete engine rebuild. No maintenance is normally required.
The Scion TC is priced at $19,999. However this price is not necessarily final. It doesn't account for the trade-in value of your current vehicle or your ability to haggle.
Scion tC cars typically cost around $20,000 new. You can find dealers in your area online by visiting the official Cars website. Once on the site, you can enter in the model of the car you are looking for and your Zip Code or City.
You can purchase a 2005 Scion TC from the Cars Direct website. Alternatively, you can also purchase this vehicle from auction websites such as eBay or classifieds such as Craigslist.
