The speed sensor and the ABS sensor are combined on a 6 speed Mondeo TDCI. It is located above the OS driveshaft.
Where is the speed sensor located on a 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer 6 cyl
in the pcm. don't make em with govenors anymoreAnswerThere is a speed limiter if this is what you mean. It is set right about 120mph. In mine it hits about 121-122ish. . depending on what Mazda 6 you have. you may not have a speed sensor. a V6 Mazda 6 with ABS doesnt have a speed sensor........the speed is calculated thru the abs sensors and is intertwined with the TCS system.the 6 ecu is multi plex and the only way to disable the speed limiter is with tuning(reprogramming the ecu)
There can be as many as 6 speed sensors, so which speed sensor are we talking about? There are 4 speed sensors, one at each wheel, if we have antilock brakes. There is a output shaft speed sensor on the output shaft housing of the transmission on the passenger's side of the car, down behind the engine, and there is a turbine speed sensor on the body of the transmission over on the driver's side.

To obtain a speed pulse you would require a CanBus Unit and connect it to the correct can wires. Usualy the OBD 2 socket. Pins 14(can low) and 6(can high). :)
rear axle housing
It's under the air filter housing.
There can be as many as 6 speed sensors. The transmission has two speed sensors, one called a VSS and one called an OSS. If the vehicle has anti-lock brakes, each wheel hub will have it's own speed sensor.
Engine coolant temp sensor, Engine oil pressure sensor, Crank sensor, Cam sensor, Bank 1 O2 sensor, Bank 2 O2 sensor (V-6), Post catalytic converter O2 sensor, EVAP (fuel system) pressure sensor, Fuel level sensor, VSS (Vehicle Speed) sensor, ABS wheel speed sensors, to name a few,
If it is a 1997 or older it is in the tail housing of the trans. If it is a 1998 or newer the speedometer signal comes from the rear axle speed sensor on top of the rear axle.
the speed sensor should be located on the transfer case where the speedometer would go . there are several speed sensors on cars one at each wheel for the ABS system but a quick call to the dealer will probably help . on my 93 the speedometer sensor is located on the third member of the rear end.
