5000 lbs is the total weight that can be towed with htis truck. check in the door for the Gross Vehicle Weight rating or GVWR that your truck can carry. you should never exceed the weight of the truck on the fron tan rear axels as this effects the preformance and the driveablity of the truck. do noe exceed the toung weight either. take the truck to a scale not a dot scale to weight it after loaded.
No, it does not.
Dextron III
2 WD models = 15.1 gallons 4 WD & PreRunner = 18 gallons
18 gallons on a 4WD & PreRunner. 15.1 gallons on a 2 WD. You will never get that much in unless you drained the tank and fuel lines.
Of course it is easy if it is a V6 as you know it is a 3.4 liter. If it is a base pickup and not a PreRunner or 4 wheel drive then it has a 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder. If it is a PreRunner or 4 WD then it has a 2.7 Liter 4 cylinder. The engine size is written under the hood on a placard.
The rear are shocks the front has struts. Rears shocks are a snap to change. Front struts should only be changed if you have the proper tools and knowledge as it can be dangerous.
The correct size is listed on the driver's door post. On a standard Tacoma 2wd the correct size is 195/75-14 and 205/70-14 is optional. If you have a Tacoma PreRunner then the size listed on the door post is wrong. The correct size is 265/75-15. This size is also correct for a 4wd.
A 1999 Toyota Tacoma holds about 5 quarts of oil total. A '99 Toyota Tacoma with a v6 engine takes 5.5 quarts of oil.
It is located underneath the intake manifold. You can get to the rear connection from under the truck. The best way to access the front connection is through the wheel well after removing the left front tire/wheel. Not easy to change.
