Typically it is either index.htm or default.htm.
There are many other variations depending on what options the web server has.

File extenions could be different as well, like, HTML (long versoin of htm), php, asp, and others, but the name usually stays the same...

You can name the homepage anything you want, usually it is the website name or company. I think you are referring to the title of the page. If you're not, the homepage on a website is index.html/php etc.
