What is the longest railway in the world?

I think it is the Trans Siberian running through Russia, but I need conformation. _____ The Trans-Siberian Railway is definitely the longest railway in the world. It starts at Moscow and 9,289 km and seven days later, it finishes in Vladivostok. There are a great many intersecting and parallel railways that are associated with it including the Trans-Manchurian and the Trans-Mongolian, The BAM and Little BAM. The Trans-Siberian Railway is a miracle of modern engineering through an extremely hostile environment. Trans-Siberian Handbook by Bryn Thomas.

What is trans fatty acid?

"Trans" fats are unsaturated (with double bonds) triglycerides (fats) where the double bonds are in a trans conformation as opposed to a cis conformation. Only cis conformation is found in nature. In the cis conformation, the two carbon chains on either end of the double bond bend to the same side while in the trans conformation, the two carbon chains bend to opposite sides. Here's a diagram (the horizontal line is the double bond):\_/ cis\_...\ trans (... are placeholders)Cis double bonds introduce a bend in a fatty acid chain and therefore unsaturated fats with cis double bonds contain bends and occupy more space, leading to lower melting temperature (harder to make solid, usually liquid at room temperatures). The hydrogenation process seeks to make the saturate the double bonds to single bonds by adding hydrogen to the double bonds, making the fatty acids linear and the melting point of the fat higher (solid at room temperature for better storage, e.g. margarine). Trans double bonds are created from cis double bonds as a side-effect of the hydrogenation process, and it so happens that the trans geometry makes the fatty acid chain linear like a single bond. Therefore the hydrogenation process makes the fatty acid chains linear, whether by creating single bonds or trans double bonds, leading to the solidification of normally liquid oils (e.g. vegetable oil).It turns out that since the trans double bond is not found in nature, the body doesn't know how to handle it. The body senses that trans fats contain double bonds, but when the body puts them to use, their biochemical properties, being opposite to the natural cis fats, cause a variety of health risks, the most significant being cardiovascular diseases.

What is confirmation and why it is important?

Conformation is the skeletal and muscular conformation of an animal. It is crucial because it enables an animal to be able to function normally in terms of eating, reproduction, and mobility. Good conformation is very important in breeding herds.

What is cisoid conformation?

don't worry about it

What are the advantages and disadvantages of conformation restriction of drug molecules?

Its activity will increase as there is a greater chance that the drug molecules will be of the right conformation. Its selectivity will also increase as there is less chance that the drug molecules will be of the wrong conformation. However, drug molecules with restricted conformation may take a longer time to synthesise as they tend to be more complex in structure.

What is a boat conformation?

Unlike benzene, which is planar, the six carbon membered cyclo-hexane ring is NOT a flat planar molecule. Each carbon in the ring orientates in a tetrahedral manner. This leads to the ring twisting. . It can twist in two ways. The 'boat' conformation and the 'chair' conformation. Taking the four opposite carbons (No's 2,3,5&6.) in the same plane, the end carbons in positions '1' & '4' point 'up' out of the plane. This is the 'boat' conformation. Conversely, Taking the same fourcarbons No '1' points 'up' out of the plane, and number '4' points 'down' ot of the plane. This is the 'chaair' conformation.

What is difference between confirmation and confirmation?

Conformation is the spatial arrangement of atoms in a molecule that can come about through free rotation of atoms about a single chemical bond. It can be changed without breaking bonds. Example. rotation about single bonds produce the cis-trans, and E-Z conformationsespecially of organic molecules.(Think: Conformation: orbiting)Confirmation is the religious ceremony of a bishop praying for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in a baptised Christian.Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/What_is_the_difference_between_conformation_and_configuration#ixzz1Q7ew2V25

Should you get a white or original German shepherd?

Unless you wish to breed or compete in conformation, it doesn't matter which you get. If you want to compete in AKC conformation, you must have a colored GSD. White GSDs are disqualified from breed conformation under the AKC. However, they can still compete in trials, such as obedience, tracking, agility, and herding. White Shepherds are considered a separate breed in the UKC. They can compete in both conformation and working trials.
