The Transmission Fluid Check bolt is in the front right part of the Transmission Pan. This is in regards to a 1998 Chevy Cavalier (since I have one myself) and may not be correct for any other year. This bolt is just to check the fluid level is correct and will not drain the entire Transmission fluid reservoir, you must remove the pan to remove the transmission fluid.
The 1998 Chevy Cavalier has a 14.3 gallon fuel capacity. The mileage is 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway.
if its the same speed yes it should since the are both in the same generation. both the 98 and 01 have the same 3 and 4 speed trans.

I own a 1998 Chevy cav. In the manual page 6-63 it says it takes 1 gallon after an oil change (3.8L) and something like 7 quarts after an overhaul.
