It depends if the school fits you and your prospective major. I love FAMU as do many students and Alumni. FAMU gives you a feeling you can not explain. On campus you feel like you all are truly a family. Like in a real family you have some family members you can't stand and others you love, that is how it is at FAMU. One thing I can tell you about Florida A & M University is that if you ask anyone who attends or has attended if they enjoyed it, most of them will be willing to talk about their experiences at FAMU. Only you can make that decision if it is the right school for you. I am proud to call myself a Rattler.

College tuition is too expensive. It needs to be lowered so more people can attend.

Yes, tuition will be higher for Detroit residents who attend community college in Florida. All state funded colleges charge higher tuition fees for out of state students. This is because the state will subsidize the cost of tuition for its own residents.
FAMU doesn't have a medical school but they have the pre-med program.
