Someone can look up a URL or Uniform Resource Locator on any modern web browser. These include Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Firefox, and Chrome.
The space bar disappears when a space would be an illegal character. Probably in Safari you were typing in the URL box (perhaps you didn't realize that is where you cursor was) and a space is not a valid URL character. If you had been in the Safari search box it would be a legal character. So be aware of where you cursor is the next time this happens and I'm sure the ipad is trying to protect you from typing an illegal URL.
The little icon that looks like a house is the 'Home' icon. On a Mac, 'Home' is the folder for the current user. Each user will have a different 'Home' folder. User home folders are inside the USERS folder on the start up disk. Safari can store a 'Home Page' which is the page that will appear when Safari is opened. It can be set to any URL the user wants in Safari Preferences. Clicking the home icon will open the specified URL. To put the home icon on the Safari menu bar, click 'View' => Customize Toolbar, and drag the little house to where you want it.
To clear the history of your browsing in Safari select Clear History from the bottom of the History menu. Select Empty Cache from the Safari menu. To avoid having your history recorded use Private browsing from the Safari menu. Most browsers have similar settings either in the menus or in their Preferences window.
I think you can copy the URL if you go on safari then youtube or where ever then post it in Facebook. Doesn't work the same as on a computer though
OS X is the operating system of Apple computers. The web browser that is included with the other software with OS X is Safari.Open Safari and type the URL into the space at the top of the window.URL means Universal Resource Locator, and usually begins with www.
Open the Safari Preferences (it's on the "Safari" menu) and click the "general preferences" tab. Put google.com in the Home Page field, and it'll open Google every time you open a new Safari window. Why you'd want to do this with Google I don't know; just to the right of the URL field at the top of every Safari window is a search field. Enter text in that field and push Return, and a Google search will happen.
